Leadership Innovation: Orchestrating Success

Long-term success comes from the creative planning and action of innovative leaders.

Norman Wright Jr | Orchestrating SuccessHave you ever noticed that the most successful business leaders tend to have an uncanny ability to look in-to the futre to see what will have to happen next in order to succeed. This isn’t some magic trick or some type of inside information. These innovative leaders are WILLING to quickly adapt to the changing market. I believe that is where the average leaders fail. The average leader gets complacent and takes their eyes off of growth objectives.

A man who wants to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd. ~Max Lucado

How long has it been since you took some real time to look at you business model and then asked yourself, “Is my business still structured for long term success?” “Has the market changed?” “Do I need to make some changes to my business in order to continue to grow?”

I’m pretty sure that most business leaders haven’t done this since the conception of their companies. That’s not good – you need to put your business model under quick and sincere scrutiny if you are looking to stay in business. It’s time to turn your back on what your industry has considered “standard practice” for so many years and set your own standards for success.

Start Orchestrating your Success –

Here are some important questions you should ask yourself (and then act on)

  1. What big changes happend in your indsutry over the past 5 to 10 years.
  2. How have these changes impacted the purchasing decitions of your customers?
  3. How have these changes impacted the pricing of your products or services?
  4. Can you modify your current business model to capitalize on the changes in the industry?
  5. What can you do to think “differently” about the way you produce your produces or services?
  6. Has the needs of your customers changed?
  7. What are the new or future needs, wants and desires of your customers?
  8. How can you efficiently re-tool your company to help meet these needs, desires and wants of your customers?
  9. Should you staff up or should you outsource?
  10. What can you do right now to  make an immediate impact on your sales?
  11. Are you efficient and effective in communicating with your customers and prospects?
  12. What can you do to increase your customer and prospect engagement on a daily basis?
  13. Are you using online and digital technology effectively or are you still in the dark ages?
  14. Has your products or services turned in to commodities?
  15. Is your company / brand perceived as being innovative or do you just blend in to the competitive landscape?

Now these aren’t the only questions you should be asking yourself and acting on but it’s a great start. As always, feel free to contact me if you would like some consultation.

Bonjour, Mr Wright !

Thank you for sharing such an interesting and useful insight. As far as I'm concerned, I find it very useful and precise. I've got just a little observation: there are some little grammar or spelling mistakes, maybe caused by your transcription software (if you are using any). I respectfully let myself pointing out those little mistakes, you they don't affect the quality of your article: Start Orchestrating your Success, point 1: Industry (misspelling), point 2: decisions (idem), point 5: products (idem), point 6: have (since "needs" is 3rd person of plural), point 14: have (idem). Once again, thank you very much for sharing your useful insights with us and for your intellectual generosity.

Yours truly,

Jim Kordoba
